This is a light camper built for short bed pickups. I bought it from the original owner back in 2002 and it has been my personal RV. It would work fine on a ½ ton full-size pickup, but I’ve had it on my ¾ ton Chevy crew cab, which is not for sale. This rail is very dependable. I have a lot experience with sand rails so you should know that this rail will provide you with hours of fun. I have rebuilt the motor and it has about four or five weekend trips on the motor. It is a 1600 VW with new rods, pistons, piston rings, valves, bearings, crank, cam, and numerous other new parts. I broke the motor in like it is supposed to be so it’s ready to go. The carburetor is new as the motor as well as the coil. It is a one barrier dual port carburetor, but it runs strong and does not take a lot of fuel to run. The gas tank is spun aluminum and holds a lot of fuel. I can’t remember the gallons, but I do know that you can run this rail all weekend without filling it up again. As you can see the rail is yellow. It has rack and pinion steering and billet aluminum rear view mirror and grab bar. The clutch is CNC hydraulic all the way from pedals to slave cylinder. The brakes are drum but I just rebuilt the master cylinder and brake cylinders. The brakes work as well as disk brakes in my opinion. The gauges are Sunpro and look and work great. It also has a tach. The wheels are Douglas aluminum both front and back. The tires are sand tire unlimited both front and back. 13’s in rear and smoothies in the front. The tires and wheels were almost $2,000 by themselves. This rail is ready for the dunes. I have completely gone over this rail from front and back and also did a complete oil change. Just purchase the rail, go to the dunes, and get ready for hours of fun. This was my wife’s rail so it was not run hard and was well taken care of. I have always stored in inside and cleaned it after every trip to the dunes.
